Tomorrow is World MS Day. A day to celebrate global solidarity and hope for the future! Let’s bring out our orange and show support for this very important cause – I know I will be!
As a person who is personally affected by Multiple Sclerosis, I feel like raising awareness is crucial to putting a stop to this disease. Everyone seems to know someone who is fighting a good fight against MS, or they themselves wake-up everyday with their arms swinging against this disease. People with MS have very different stories and experiences. All of which are unique to their situation. We continue this fight against MS everyday with a hope to accomplish our dreams without the weight of MS – Is it world travel or skydiving? Or perhaps it is just sitting at home curled up with a good book. I fight for, not only myself, but for my family who has always stood by me and are there when I need to talk. My husband and my friends who make everyday more fun and more tolerable regardless of what symptoms I may be facing that day. And especially for my daughter, who needs to never see me lose hope. Last but not least, I fight for everyone else who has MS…we will stay strong!
So tomorrow, more than yesterday, please take a moment to reflect on what people face everyday living with MS and applaud their courage and bravery with a smile.
