Essential oils – more than smelling good.

Over the course of my life with Multiple Sclerosis (MS), I have continually sought ways that some of my own personal struggles can be relieved. I know that living gluten free will help with my digestion, staying active can help with physical challenges and remaining positive is so important. In addition, I have been introduced to the way that essential oils can play a part and help to ease the emotional and stressful things that are bound to come up in life.

Let’s talk about how essential oils have helped me and could help a person living with MS or other challenges. I am currently a student at an online university and frankincense oil has helped me with studying during my “best” hours. Using oils helps me increase my productivity when I read and helps to keep my thoughts clear when I am writing. Besides keeping my focus while I’m studying, I have yet to take a test without diffusing an essential oil. I diffuse oil in my office which helps to keep my focus in check. When I go to bed at night, I am never without lavender oil diffusing in my room. It helps to take my mind from all of the day’s activities, easing me into sleep. Before I fall asleep, I often find myself over-analyzing the details of the day and focusing on my own challenges and limitations. Besides smelling amazing, essential oils have helped me to achieve peace and acceptance before I fall asleep. I stay asleep longer without those pesky thoughts I am sometimes awakened by – the “what-ifs” in life.
I value the things I have faced, especially those things that can help me to manage this disease. I have learned that with a positive outlook and embracing the wealth of information out there, no matter how simple it may seem, I am capable of living happily with Multiple Sclerosis.

💜And a huge thank you to my dear friend, Catherine Perry, for showering me with all of her love and essential oil knowledge.  Most importantly, she taught me how essential oils can help on my journey when I was first diagnosed with MS. I love you! 💜
